Stuart qualified as a solicitor in 1977. He set up his own firm 1979, building up a substantial practice, before joining Grower Freeman in 2007. Stuart specialises in all aspects of commercial and residential property, acting for both private and corporate clients. He also has expertise in landlord and tenant matters for both residential and commercial premises, including claims for possession, statutory renewal of business leases, service charge disputes and tenants’ claims, either for lease extensions or collective enfranchisement of a block of flats where he has acted on frequent occasions and is highly regarded as an expert in this field. In addition, Stuart deals with the preparation of wills, and both contentious and non-contentious probate matters.
Stuart believes that a successful solicitor must not only know the law but also understand his clients and their requirements. He takes pride in the fact that he still acts for many clients who first instructed him when he was newly qualified and who have remained loyal ever since.
